Hey! I’m Johanna, 15 years old, and Luigi Locchetti is my way of letting my creativity run wild—from anywhere in the world.

To be honest, school wasn’t really my thing. At some point, I realized I wanted to do something different—something where I could decide for myself what to create. I live with my family in a country where homeschooling is allowed, and that’s exactly what we’re doing now. We travel a lot together—to the Caribbean, where I went diving and saw how differently people can live; to Finland for snowboarding; through the vast forests of Sweden; to the human towers in Spain; through the old streets of Prague and the bustling neighborhoods of Paris. Everywhere I go, I get to know new languages, cultures, and perspectives. That’s my way of learning—out in the world, not in a classroom.

But I didn’t just want to travel. I also wanted to create something of my own and learn along the way. So I started Luigi Locchetti. The name? My parents came up with it when I was little. It popped back into my head, and somehow it just fits. Through this project, I’m learning so much: math, marketing, web design, writing, English—all things I can put into practice right away and that I never would have learned in school the way I’m learning them now.

I design everything myself, mostly on my laptop. No matter where I am. Sometimes it’s nature motifs, sometimes travel vibes, sometimes sayings that often pop into my head spontaneously. I don’t always know exactly what inspires me—sometimes it’s just what I’m seeing or feeling at the moment. New designs are constantly being added; I’m always coming up with new ideas.
When it comes to the products, I focus on quality: almost 100% cotton, some even organic. It feels better and is also better for the environment.
The best thing about Luigi Locchetti? I can travel with my family wherever we want and still pursue my passion. No set working hours, no boss—just me, my computer, and new places waiting to be discovered.
This is just the beginning. More designs, more products—let’s see where the next journey takes us.
